I Dream of the Sky
I told my mommy I wanted to touch the sky
She told me I can always try
Reaching as high and as far as I could I struggled with all my might
But the wind blew the sky far above and barely out of sight
Nights and days and years went by with me still trying to reach the sky
The whispers and talk and names flew by but I still dreamed that I could fly
Many days I could almost feel the touch of it on my skin
And memories passed of what is and was and what might have someday been
What a day it was when I found that the sky was to distant to catch
So here I am with my feet on the ground never again to detach
My mind will wander to the clouds sometimes
And again I may remember the times
When the sky called to me
And the world above was to beautiful to see

Love. A four letter word, short but true. With no hope of being defined. But what's new?

-S. Jordan
