The Story of Eyes
A multitude of colors
Brown, Blue and Green
A multitude of sizes
Large, Medium, and Small
Our eyes seem like an ornament
To our faces
But they are so much more
Our feelings it replaces
Look deep into someone’s eyes
And it will tell you their story
A tale will arise
It be joyful or gloomy
Brown eyes are superior
To which blue eyes are less
And gray eyes are rare
But purple, almost never
The emotion behind our eyes
Can tell you a life story
Look into the eyes of a baby
You’ll see innocence
Look into the eyes of a teenager
you’ll see secrets beyond belief
Look into the eyes of an elder
You’ll see the horrors they have faced
Yet also the wisdom they have acquired
No matter how young
Or how old
Our eyes yearn for you to know
The true feelings we are hiding
Behind our wall of sorrow
