The Journey
There one day, gone the next
Mistakes, the ones you can’t make
Cross the bridge
Don’t cross
Take a match and slowly burn the bridge
Rebuild then take down
Rebuild and reassure
The ones that don’t help rebuild, we’ll leave them in the ashes
Stuck there forever in a run around of “what ifs” and regrets
Or walk away without a simple glance
Like the bridge had never once crossed these lands
But I’ll keep building useless bridges in fear of all the ones I burned,
The ones no matter how hard I try will never be whole again
Not in fear of ones to come just ungratefully aware of the ones which I’ll burn before I cross
Then as they burn I’ll have nowhere to run so I’ll fall in these unknown ashes
The journey after that so insecure my bridges all gone and definitely alone
Where the story ends at the beginning of the road
Story ends before it starts because I burnt all the bridges I needed to grow
