Counting
I've been counting your footsteps
And twirling my hair
But there's nothing I can do
To make you care
Have you counted your blessings
And bathed in the sun
For the past is nothing
You can run away from
I've been counting the lashes
That fall from my eyes
And the layers of layers
Of your entangled lies
You've been counting my stammers
And unsure remarks
And searching for some way
For us to restart
And the stars that twinkle
And the kisses we mount
Upon lips, cheeks and foreheads
We forgot to count.
