A Father's Silhouette

I wish he could be more to you.
More than a fatherly shadow.
I wish you could feel close to him,
But you can't mix oil with water.
I wish he could be a better person,
But alcohol is your replacement to him.
Baby, I often think about you and him.
I always wish he could be more than a silhouette.

I was sitting here feeling really bad about my dad and crying and just looking for something or someone that seemed to fit, and this is it. This so decribes my relationship with my dad, and I can feel the compassion you have for your boyfriend in this. thank you
