Love like a Rose
Love, to me, is like a rose.
Fragile, yet strong,
It's beauty destroyed,
By worms of lust and deceit.
Petals blown away by the wind,
Passing from one to another,
Never still for more than a few seconds.
When it's stem is cut down,
Slashed by the knife,
Bloodied by lies and distrust,
Coloring the petals,
Unable to be washed away,
Dark red petals,
Dripping with hate,
Forever a reminder,
Of love's cruel fate.
