Of Bridges and Crossing Them
You are the mirror I always look good in,
The one that makes me smile.
You’re the air that fills my tired lungs,
To relieve me for a while.
You’re the rope that never fails me,
When I got nowhere left to turn,
You are the flame that never dies,
And makes our feelings heard.
You’re the dress that always flatters me,
You’re the heels that make me proud.
You’re the thought that fills my pen with ink,
That turns my stubborn wheels to think,
That makes the silence loud.
And I am your mirror you always look good in,
The one that makes you smile.
And I can carry your heavy hopes,
And walk your lonesome mile.
While it could just be angles
Or the things the lighting hides,
We’re the mirror we always look good in,
Because we need someone on our side.
