Come, Love, Let's Away
Cool rain filters through the screen
I feel it kissing my eyelids, my lips,
the tantalizing celestial release--
The night is young, deep with ambiguity and the spirit of youth!
Come, love, let's away,
drenching ourselves in blithe surrender--
Oh! you are sublime:
a countenance of a poet's heart,
an artist's eye.
Such beauty should come out from the veil--or, at least, for mine own heart's joy.
Splendor in its natural state,
it is the sweetest thing.
Come, love, let's away
from the confinement of our home,
into the wild, rendered of the comfort and familiarity
that we've always known.
Come, love, let's away
from the shackles and chains
we all to often choose--
running the race, playing the game,
abiding by our faulty rules.
Why doth man choose bondage,
when grace and truth doth hold the
key?
Come, love, let's away
from our blind stupidity!
We can't escape,
We won't escape,
'Til death we are not free.
But He is my joy!
He is my strength!
He gave you to me.
Come, love, let's have hope and pray for have strength and clarity.
Yea, we are free indeed.
Come, love, let's away.
