Little paper people
In this little paper town
The white world stays still
As I pause to look around
Paper people with paper dogs,
Paper children playing with paper balls
I wonder if they know
That I can see straight through them all
With one slight breeze
They could be gone with the wind
Leaving no mark on what was left behind
But me, I am different
My shoes leave footprints all over this
Perfect paper world
If you cut me, I will bleed
If you tease me, I might cry
And one day my heart's beat
Will come to a stop
But before that day comes,
I will make a difference
Unlike these paper people
I am made of something stronger
I am made of bricks
Their paper words can't hurt me,
Paper hammers won't tear me down
So while these paper people are bothered
With their paper people things,
I will be home waiting
With my strong and human wings
Anticipating the day when I finally will fly
They better watch out for when I break down
All these paper doors

I think this is one of my favorite poems on this site. Great imagery, fantastic word usage, inspiring message. I LOVE it. Keep writing!

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

I love the almost lyrical sound to this. Very, very nice job.
