The Girl Of Spring
The first day of spring what a joyous occasion
a day that signifies that return of warm evenings
the start of new beginnings
a girl peaked outside to see new leaves
with much surprise the trees were bare
the girl walked outside to gaze at the scene
then she began to walk on a path hoping to see at least a vine
as she came up to the first tree something magical happened
so amazingly incredible that at first she couldn't even fathom
one of those tiny buds suddenly blossomed
she walked and walked without taking the smallest heed
to the plants opening up their warm hands as she slowly passed by
it wasn't until she looked over her shoulder
that her warm beautiful eyes lit up to see springs vibrant
white petals
green leaves
beautiful pink cherry blossoms filled the trees and graced the ground
she began to sprint down the winding path
with tree after tree bursting open into those many colorful tears
that the sight of her beauty forced them to shed
not a watch nor the weather brought along the spring
but the mere sight of this girl whose rare beauty is a myth
