Broken Glass
Small, delicate
A tiny crystal orb.
Held in the palm of my hand,
Fragile, gentle
Rolling between my fingers,
Dancing over my palms.
Reflections of light
Jumping from the glass,
A rainbow,
Magnificent, wonderful
Glowing, shining
Lighting the way.
Rolling in my fingers
It falls
Glancing from my skin,
It shatters.
Small reflective dust
scattered around my feet.
I kneel
Picking up the shards
I arrange them,
Force them together,
But they remain broken,
Forever shattered,
Never whole.
