If Walls Could Talk
If walls could talk,
funny how people say that
have you ever sat alone in a room
forgot about what it feels like to be yourself, forgot what emotions are on your heart, peel back the layer of teen angst and self loathing?
opened yourself up to the imprint left behind by those present before you?
Let the walls tell you their story
through the layer of paint and paper
brick and plaster
sometimes walls can talk
and they tell you what they've seen.
Your posters weren't the only ones on that wall,
and that carpet may have soaked up more tears than yours,
its comforting to know that you weren't the only one to suffer within the walls, flourish under this roof, learn above this floor,
maybe your not the last,
and maybe one day the walls will tell your story,
to someone willing to listen
but you need to listen first
