A Dad
Anyone can be a father,
It’s not that hard to do.
But a dad on the other hand,
Takes a special person just like you.
You’re eyes were two gleaming stars,
This matched your snow-white smile,
And you always had to look your best,
You had such a dashing style.
I see you in every plant,
Every flower, grass stem, and tree,
Because of how you loved gardening,
How it brought you serenity.
Remember swimming every day
If it was warm enough outside?
Remember making those whirl pools,
Then letting them take us for a ride?
Your paintings cover the walls,
So I can see them every day.
This helps me hold my head up higher,
And know it’s going to be ok.
Its way too much for words,
But I’ll at least attempt to tell,
How I loved you so much.
When you died my world fell.
I love you to the moon and back.
Multiply that times 5.
And that amount of love never changed,
Although you are no longer alive
