A Day In Chorus
I sang the right words
All of them in perfect time
My voice pouring out more beautiful than her's
Tone perfect with each and every rhyme
He joined me in song
Our voices melding as one
I have been waiting for this moment so long
I would love to hold his hand and (with him) run
Instead we sat with each other
And we looked deeply into the other's eyes
He seemed to ignore that there was a "her"
And I could see that his love for her was built on lies
Then she walked into the room
And I guessed that the love that could have been was doomed.
