They Danced in Moonlight
They danced in moonlight,
Heart and soul, one, crescent moon’s gaze,
Wings silvery in the glow
They danced in moonlight,
The stars above, gently, guiding,
And their hearts within, brightly, lighting
They danced in moonlight,
Hand in hand and moon’s approving glow,
Cool crisp air that fireflies never know
They danced in moonlight,
Hand in hand and daggers, too
To die as one, but kill as two
They danced in moonlight,
Hand in hand and blood on the snow,
For what they shed, we do not know
They danced in moonlight,
Bright stars alight in their dark eyes,
Above rivers of blood, cold, reflection in the night
They danced in moonlight,
Despite the heartless gallow’s glare,
These killer’s lips, knew no prayer
They danced in moonlight,
And despite a thousand deaths not theirs
Faced the gallows with determined glares
They danced in moonlight,
Like the demons, so below,
And the angels sang, for who, who knows
They danced in moonlight,
One last time before the fire
Final judgment, then no more
They danced in moonlight.
