The Cries of a Sea Shell
Crashing, swirling, tumbling
Closely up to your ear,
The waves from home echo
Memories of once what was
Whisper, soft, faint
The light dims darker
The shadow covers the sound
Sick from all the new
But still sings of what was
Crumbling, cracking, aging
Becoming elder in years
Different figure, different shade
But same old melody of what was
Broken, invaluable, wasted away
Pieces of time broken away
Once young and free
Now bound by the parched land
And still cries of what once was
