People are able to hold onto hope, since death is that which can not be seen.

Rays of light,
beaming through my mind,
through my prison,
through frozen time

And I kneel,
cold, lost, unforgiving,
but this life was meant for living

A slave, banished here, waiting,
taking time for compensating

Live inside, but dark of heart,
time again I play the part

Blood on the face of humanity,
I see the things none care to see

In my mind they torture the false,
in blackened wounds they rub the holy salt

I woke up on the couch and a televangelist was prattling on about why god exists. I was in the kitchen, making my tea, when he started talking about Satanist and Wiccans, or 'Hell raisers, heathens and -I couldn't believe it- child killers'. I was outraged, and as I'm wont to do, I started writing.

I hope this helps you understand what it feels like for every part of my countries society to have equal rights, except Wiccans.

"Life should be viewed from afar and lived from close up."

Wow. Perfectly chilling, and a really well-written poem. Great job.
