tucked away and safe
that October day a butterfly danced
across my eyes and landed on my shoulder
i felt broken beyond repair
when Gods angels came and took you away
i don't understand why you had to go so early you were only 56
my heart still feels the pain like when i saw you in that cold bed
with your hand folded so softly over your belly with the rosary
i placed a letter with you as my tears did flow
i am unable to forget your love
the love of a person who knew so much and never told a soul
that same butterfly seems to find me no matter where i am
i have you tucked away and safe
in my heart
i can't wait to see you again in heaven with your arms ready with a smile so big
but till then i am keeping you
tucked away and safe in my heart forever
