The college experience

On campus while we're young and on fire

The college experience

More than youth is required

Youth soon to be nostalgia

As we take the reins of the world

Dreams gone, dreams dead

Collegiate etiquette and things

Are a shackles upon the youths wings

And it chokes upon the realism

Never again do our hearts, nor dreams sing

The author's comments:
As we get older, a lot of our childhood dreams are killed off from the need to be accepted and too be taken seriously. Most of us lose our interest in our dreams because we think: "Why bother?" I just thought that maybe I'd be able to embody it in this particular poem.
