This Is Who I Am
If I was a sinner,
And I went to hell,
There would be an angel,
Who suddenly fell.
If I was a damsel,
And in great distress,
There would be a prince,
Who would give it his best.
If I were a lion,
And I had to roar,
Then my pride would cower,
And fall to the floor.
If I were an eagle,
And I flew so free,
There would be a fish,
Who would glide though the sea.
If I were a boy
And I loved a man
I’d say screw what you think
And walk hand in hand
If I were a woman
And I loved a girl
I’d cherish her beauty
And say “Eff you world!”
But I’m not a sinner
I won’t go to hell.
There won’t be an angel
Who suddenly fell.
I won’t be a damsel.
I’m not in distress.
And if there was a prince
He would probably rest.
I can’t be a lion.
I can’t even roar.
My pride would be shamed
And slink out the door.
I won’t be an eagle.
I don’t really fly free
And live fish are just gross
Only deep friend for me.
But if I were a boy
And I loved a man
I’d say screw what you think
And walk hand in hand.
And if I were a woman
And I loved a girl
I’d cherish her beauty
And say “Eff you world!”
Because I am a person
I know what I feel.
And no one can tell me
My love isn’t real.
