It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Grasping those fading golden strands
There at the edge of the world
And reaching farther into the beyond
Refusing to let go, dragging me from my home

And yet I’m tired of trying to hold on
The day was bright and warm and wonderful
But the day passed by, never stopping for me
And I’m turning my back on the sun

Eyes long used to one blinding light
Adjust to the sparkling beauty of many
A vast, silver net that whispers
“Leap, you won’t fall.”

Breath takes shape in the frigid air
I shiver and wonder at the sensation of cool wind
And exhale the remnants of the day
Watching wisps of memories rise into the night

Ground rushes by me, flying past
My feet barely touch while running
I imagine I can dance, no one will see
I realize that I’m finally free

"Be the change you want to see."

That was good, although I thought it was a bit too long. The first stanza was truly magical, and so was the last. I think the stanzas in between can be improved. Great job! Please read, rate, and comment on my poems! It would mean a lot:) Thanks!
