Poison Ivy
My left elbow,
my face,
my knees,
and between my fingers in my right hand,
hideous mountains of pus oozed.
The camp medic was worried.
I had an injection,
and the bumps were gone,
but my arm still oozed pus-
the signs of an infection.
After taking some antibiotics,
I finally recovered,
but my left elbow still looks as if it were bleached
from that time
I touched
poison ivy.
