Forgetful Hero
The militiamen gather with constant droning following them.
A cloud of sulfur and coal descending to the earth,
wreaking havoc with perfect poison.
Their wandering weapon seeks scarlet and numbs time.
They are an imminent intimidation
of a hovering helicopter creating a viral vortex in the sky
Until a drone stands alone.
Sulfur drifts to gold while coal condenses into black diamonds.
He befriends endless flowers and matches mates
through electroshocks of attraction it carries new beauty while
dodging assassins, endless-legged threats, and man-made killers
like a forgetful superhero in his striped disguise and a cape that uplifts him.
A day will come when wings and a broad sky are not enough,
When stripes become a bulls-eye rather than a costume.
He unveils his mighty sword and swings it for the future.
It’s absurd.
A sword loses its wielder, but a hero gains beauty.
Yet they continue humming and dancing to their song
and invite sweetness into the lives of the blind
and soar as a tragic beauty.
