Endless Passing Days
Time used to be marked
By kisses and inside jokes
But now time is marked
By how long it takes the toothpaste tube to run out
Or whether it’s time to do the laundry again.
I used to count passing days
By how long it had been since I’d seen you
And how long it would be til I saw you again.
Now days pass
Unnoticed
Unchanging
Unequivocally,
Falling through fingers like sand.
What good is each minute,
If not to be spent loving you?
