There Sits A Girl
There sits a girl
Alone in the park.
Her hoodie is light,
Jeans and Converse dark.
Clutching a notebook
That she holds dear,
Isolated in the park
Only squirrels are near.
But she is not lonely,
Indeed, far from it.
For she has a well worn notebook
In her lap as she sits
A mindful of ideas,
Chilled air to inspire her,
Freedom from constraints,
And a world entire.
Surrounded by music
She pushes pencil to paper
As the wind blows around her
a poem fills the paper.
Her heart pours out
Flowing from her fingers
In this climate words come easily
To the girl who sits
Alone in the park.
