The Brawl
I look across the table
into his red and menacing eyes.
He nods at me,
and we both dash out of our chairs.
We head for the stairs,
elbowing each other.
I shove him out of the way
and climb as fast
as I can to get there first.
I hide behind the door while he walks in
and I lunge at his waist,
then throw him to the bed.
He sticks his foot out
and strikes me in the stomach.
I clutch my chest in pain,
but keep fighting, wincing.
After getting tackled
countless more times
by his huge body,
I accept my defeat
and go down for the count.
He won again.
I fall on the floor,
laughing after another
sibling brawl.
