Questions
Questions
The weight of the world
upon her heart.
Threatening to crush.
One little slip, it’s
over.
A smashed hourglass.
Gone.
Would the world change?
It keeps on turning.
The challenge they call life
upon us all.
Would lives shift?
Only for a moment.
A drop of sand in the hourglass.
The continuation…
no more.
Others will survive, unaffected.
Would the world care?
No. Heartless,
she tells herself.
On outstretched hand,
cut away by others.
Offered love?
Trust has run out.
Does someone love her?
Not ever enough.
Left all alone.
No answers.
Continuing questions.
She slips…
the hourglass shatters.
The world will not
weep.
It will keep on turning.
Hers won’t.
