Falling Away
I feel so far
1,000,000 miles away
Crawling to the edge of the cliff
Your hand slips through my grasp
Tears cry out, but they don't fall
Words come, but they don't speak
Your bond with me is like a wound reopening
I can't see your face no matter how hard I remember
The friendship hanging from a thread
Torn between two worlds
That which I remember
And a reality I can't see
When I think of the bond we had
Laughing at the world
Standing side by side
The friendship we shared
The secrets we stored
All that disappearing
Like a fog evaporating
Taking the suns joy with it
8 hours in reverse
The world spins round
The way your smile lit up your face
The way we laughed at silly purple books
Spinning faster and faster
Getting farther and farther
Black Roses on a hill
Do you remember
Memories spinning around me
Sparks flying before my eyes
Water slides in front of me
Trickling off the ride
When the whisper of your name brings no thought
When the cold rush of joy never happened
The world falling out from under my feet
As you tear your hand away from mine
Walking further away
Foreign bells ringing in the background
