False Paradise
Let's make a promise,
To burn our halos,
To rip off our wings,
That place isn't worth it,
That place isn't one of being
Perfection is a lie,
It's shown me the line
And whence I crossed,
I no longer wish to have it,
For it is a monster of control,
It will never have my soul,
And whether or not this means I am false,
I shall forever belong to the earth,
Along with all of her faults.
Now follow along young children,
Suckle up to the elder men,
Give them your trust,
Give them what they lust,
Open your mind,
Only to see it bind,
Shut around a single book,
That one would sooner destroy than give a second look.
Make me the promise you never accept,
Everything that happens to reject,
The idea of freedom of our lives,
And accepts on of the biggest lies,
Because we are alive within the now,
Give it your all and surrender no ground,
Open your heart to what you will,
And meet your last day with your soul set still.
