Time Gone By
Time flies by for you, but not for me
Each second, I stand
All through the past, present, and future
I go tick-tock-tick.
Round and round my hands move
Only for a minute, they stop
Through the twelve months
I go tick-tock-tick.
Fire extinguished others from sight
But here, a Survivor remains alone
Twice around a day, for 365 days
Every year since I remember
I go tick-tock-tick.
Constant ticking of the reminder of time
To come what has been, will be and is
People look upon me, but never notice
I go tick-tock-tick.
I stand in front of history.
Of old, of new, and of present
I show my time gone by as
I go tick-tock-tick.
Forever here, forever on my own, forever trapped in times of old
I go tick-tock-tick.
The constant beating never stops pounding
I can never cease, and never leave because I’m a clock
I go tick-tock-tick.
