My Final Moments
I hope that my last breath
is a sigh of relief
That my last step is took with ease
as I collapse to my knees
Where I will pray to God
and tell him “thanks”
not for just what he’s done
but the strength he gave me to do it myself.
I hope that in my last few moments
I laugh at the life I spent
I hope regret doesn’t consume me
or fill me at all.
I hope the days of lemonade
over power the ones like razorblades.
I hope the demons voices were drowned
out by my better judgement.
I hope that every good memory fills me whole
because either way when death stares straight into my eyes
I will not blink.
