Feelings
Feelings are a dark grey knife
in a world where one wrong word can send you off
spinning into a place no one wants to be.
Feelings are a dark grey knife
a knife that punctures the fabric of reason.
a life without feelings- so easy, so straightforward.
but throw in something messy
and complicated
like love
or anger.
all of a sudden you're making stupid choices
decisions based on reasons that don't even exist.
based on a crazy obsession, or a passionate hate.
Feelings are a dark grey knife
ripping at your conscience, and when the other person
just doesn't feel the same way about you
a feeling of being let down, guilt and disappointment
flow through your veins before reaching your heart, flooding it with grief
but feelings are a dark grey knife
with only a glimpse of sparkling silver beauty.
Because feelings make things different.
They are a knife that shaves away at the dark peel
and exposes the sweet juice from the fruit that is life.
for feelings are a dark grey knife.
