Confusing Thursdays
In May it rained on two Thursdays
And the roads flooded
Causing traffic
But on Sunday
You told me
There was another bottle of coke in the fridge
And another hit in your purse
And I got confused
Because I had already taken some pills earlier
That I didn’t need and I
Opened the fridge in need of a hit
And instead got impatient upon seeing the bottle
I downed it in one go
And remembered that
My sister lied to me
Last Tuesday
When she saw
The weather report for the week
On Thursday I went for a walk
High on something
It rained and my shoes
Filled with water and mud
I didn’t wear socks that day
I left most of my clothes in your house
I think I need a pull of something right now
But you went out to look for
Some crime fiction novel
And took your purse
And the heroin with you.
