"You have not even begun to scratch the surface of how important your life means to not only me, [y]our friends and [y]our family, but your life, which is a gift for the world that is waiting for you." - Brent Smith.

The best insight,
Always comes from a child.
The greatest ideas,
Always come from the young.
Tv shows,
Movies,
Everything under the sun.

The dumbest decisions,
Are always made by adults.
The worst ideas,
Always come from the old.

Why do we put up with this?
Because theyre older,
They know better??

never worse,
Their argument has been.
Age,
Never equals knowledge.

I say to stand up.
Live your life,
The way you intend.
Dont let them,
Interfere with anything.

Stand up,
And hold your ground.
Your life,
Is worth fighting for every scrap

The author's comments:
Where I live, there is a huge discrimination of age. This poem was inspired by said discrimination. To be discriminated, especially by something as nonsensical as age, is just wrong.

yeah. i was making a symbolic point with this poem, and a lot of my poems are literal, so yeah i could see where your perspective comes from

Are you ready to go to battle with your mind?- Written by me :)<br /> Lost the battle, win the war//Bringing my sinking ship back to the shore- Paramore, Now

I understand what you're saying, but I'm only going to agree with you 75% of the way.  Children are better than adults to a certain extrent.  For example, during a mushroom challenge (building the tallest biulding out of only 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow that had to be placed at the top of building) the team that was successful in doing this was a group of children, the reason they were successful in doing this than the adults, is because they were "more open to ideas and suggestions." As a child you are always asking the question, "Why?" When we age and become older we lose that "inquisitiveness in large part because we begin to rely more on our assumptions to inform us of the realities of any particular situation."   I feel like I went to deeply in this subject, but I enjoyed reading your poem.
