The Place
Have you heard of this land?
It's a place that's lonely and depressing
Where the amount of tears rivals grains of sand
Everyone has a smile on their face
And if you think hard you might remember this place
You won't find happiness
But you will find emotions making a mess
They've been let loose
Dropped, slammed, hit, and thrown
By troubled humans, wanting to be alone
It's the unspoken rule to keep this place hidden
So you follow rules, like a good, loyal citizen
And shine your tiring, fake smile
Every heart has a fracture
And when the smile falters
You can really see the torture
Few can see this place without being a member
But once you're in, you're in forever
Some don't recognize your empty eyes
And they definitely won't believe you
Once you begin telling lies,
You know the place I speak of
Because you have seen it before
But I can't say any more
Don't try to look for this place
You do not want to find it
It's not safe; we're all trying to escape
Our hearts have been molded into shape
To eventually get us here,
Stuck in a place with no way out
Isn't worth knowing what it's about
Because forever is a long time
To live a life like mine
