In My Hand
In my hand
lays a whole new land
where I am creator
where I am god
I can alter the future
break the cycle
my veins are the oceans
that pump and flow the blood
liquid life courses its path
picks the high road
not the road so low
set up for success
built to guilt the blames
smiles and pretends-
I’m something more than weak
am I nothing but a shell?
when naive children's dreams break
shatter the colored spectrums
in the life of corrupted youth
by a society that does nothing
but watches us bleed and wilt
who chooses the price we pay?
who decides to give and take?
this life is but a twisted game
where I am no god, creator
just a pawn set in motion
to dethrone the king
steal the crown of deceit
to challenge life and death
and see who then will win
the broken lie learned by all.
