I Hear the Wind
I hear the wind blow,
and I wonder how long I’ll sail alone.
“Mommy, how do the birds fly?”
They may or may not.
They will fly, or they will die.
The trees nearly parallel to the ground.
The whistling and howling, the only sound.
The drop of a pin
would be silent to the wind.
The cry of a soul,
drowning in sin.
I hear the wind blow,
and I wonder how long I’ll sail alone.
