How to Catch Darkness

Darkness is a rare thing
The day confuses for 12 hours
And the our night is impure
With its city sky lines
And highways and sky ways
We drive back the black
Every cell phone’s beaming light
Every stinging street lamp
Even the flickering candles
And the glistening eyes
Betray their shadow friends
The dark is a skittish creature
Bright electric thoughts scar it
As the moon and the stars insult it
The sun beats and chases it back
So it keeps its distance
And hides in corners and abysses
It lives with dark people
With darker pasts
But if you can coax it
Prove you’re not a burning star
Night will just maybe come to you

This poem is amazing. It shows and tells everything about the dark and night that many people can not put into words. An amzing piece by an amazing author.
