Our Hidden Darkness
There is darkness within us all,
But where there is darkness,
There is also light.
For there cannot truly be good
Without the bad,
Love without the hate,
Day without the night.
It is an ever-consuming abyss of fire,
Gnawing away at the souls of yesterday.
But can there be no life
Without the death?
No silence without
The sound?
The black without the white?
There’s a heart of gold,
A heart of glass,
A heart of shadows,
A heart of ash.
Glass and ash, golden shadows.
Not one without the other.
