Free Fall
I'm falling for you.
Grasping clue-
lessly for something
to break my fall.
But the rope I'm grasping for
has been gnawed.
I'm hopelessly falling
with nothing to stop me.
Ironically
this is the first time I feel free.
Free of the ropes of rejection
and false perfection.
I can hear you screaming.
Telling me to try just a little bit harder.
To grasp onto the rope.
But if those bonds are my last hope,
then I have none.
If the only thing that can save me
is my insecurities.
Then I don't want to be saved.
The pain in that "security" isn't worth it.
They make me feel like a slave.
I'm calling for you.
to fall with me too.
But the ropes are enticing.
Telling you if you only serve them
they will always be your friend.
Now, that's a lie.
All they want to do it tie.
You down.
Just cut free,
and fall with
me.
