I’m coming down with something
Or so I think

Temperature seems to check out
So does all else

I shake my head
In effort to shake away the thought

Spring has fallen; Summer faded
Soon is Autumn’s turn

Soon the melody of two birds
Will become the owl in the night

I’m being nonsensical
However, that is a symptom

Without reason, without doubt
Again, I am stricken with love
