That Night
I was walking
In the cold,
Clenching fists,
Breathing hard.
And then I heard
Footsteps behind -
Someone catching up
To me. I shivered.
And when I turned
And looked to see
Who stood there
Looking at me,
I smiled and said,
“Hey.”
The moon was out,
The snow shone white,
Midnight drawing closer,
My heart felt light.
It was you
Who came to me
For no reason
On that night.
