... Maybe
I wish we were normal; if we were normal, we could be together, without all the hypocrisy and the lies.
If we were normal, you could kiss me, or hold my hand without people staring and whispering. Maybe then, we could be a normal couple; you know, the kind that goes out to dinner and movies together. Not the kind that lives in constant fear of being jumped the next day. Your friends, my friends? Even they watch us like hawks. They notice the difference in age, and personality. You get tagged brutally, and I get nicknamed "Jail-bait". I can't live that down. Even my mother hates it. When we stay after school together, I hear the teachers whispering about how queer it is. I wish we were normal.
If we were normal,I would hug you every day. I would kiss you, too. I would let you walk me to class, and not be embarrassed about it, either. I wish that was possible, but it isn't, right? Maybe some day it will be. Maybe...
Can't a lady dream?
