At the beach
i found a stone
beautiful and rare
laying there
as i walked
i looked down
it was just sitting there
alone
i picked it
soft
misplaced in the shale
on the ocean floor
where did it come from
standing out from all the rest
like nothing i'd seen before
beautiful
i couldn't keep myself from smiling
i took it home
placed it by my bed
a reminder to me that difference
is nothing bad at all
being different is beautiful
you just have to look to see
that everyone is unique
and unique is really free
be yourself
don't be afraid
the right person will find you
pick you up
and take you home
you'll be shown off
talked about
and loved
just remember
