Marionette.
Strings attached to arms and legs,
She drank the cup that’s filled with dregs,
Poison fills her veins to the brim,
She drank it because she could not be with him,
Another man came around,
His face constantly stained by a frown,
Determined to make him see happiness,
She gave her soul to him for nothing less,
He sewed her mouth shut with thread made from threats,
His friends gawked and laughed at her, all making bets,
He attached strong cords to her wrists,
When she struggled, he beat her with his fists,
He secured stronger cords round her feet,
She could not get away, for without her soul she was incomplete.
