Oceanic
A deep cobalt
Stretches before me,
Miniscule grains of
Rock and shell
Are all that breeches the gap
Between blackened asphalt
and the wondrous deep.
I care not about the burns
Inflicted by sun-heated sand
As I bound into the ocean.
Greeted by a refreshing cool,
I submerge;
A caressing chill envelops me.
I breathe the air
Seasoned with a salty aroma.
Push and pull
Creates a wave
Adventurous spirit can
Guide to dive in;
Calm nature can dictate
To simply float.
Crashing foamy peaks abound
Not unpleasantly tossed about
And I make my home
Here in the ocean.
