Gray Skies
Who would you be today?
If you could, what would you say?
If you were here, how would you look?
Would you be a singer? Would you write books?
There isn’t a day where I don’t think about you.
Death took you, before your life was through.
I’d give up the whole world, just to hold you again.
To get you back, I’d sin a thousand sins.
Life isn’t fair – I have a hatred for it,
But, in my heart is where you’ll always fit.
I love you – I miss you, you were unlike most – few.
You disappeared before there was anything I could do.
My soul feels black with sorrow,
Today, it feels as if there’s no tomorrow.
Every day, I hate God for have taken you.
I love you – I wish you knew.
I know you can hear me,
I know you can see,
All the pain that’s inside me.
Even the misery.
I almost forgot the color of your eyes,
The way you look when you smile.
It’s my fault for forgetting,
But, it’s your fault for leaving.
Until I die, I’ll miss you with all that I have,
Now you’re gone – so is my other half.
I’ll move on, I’ll be fine.
It’s going to be hard without you by my side.
You’re slipping from me, I fear,
But, I’ll always love you, dear.
Although death has taken you away from me,
In my heart is where you’ll always be.
