Choked words
We strolled along
That one summer day
And you said the three words
I’ve been trying to say
I can still feel the warmth
89 degrees
And Even the way
The bones locked in my knees
And the way you said it
Is etched into my brain
Makes my butterflies fly
And drives me insane
Then your dark eyes
Pierced into mine
And captured my breath
When we intertwined
And your binding smile flashed
And brought me back from the dead
You put your lips
On my lips stained so red
I exhaled once and looked down at my feet
And tried to sustain my breath
When all I could feel was my own heartbeat
So in the silence, standing next to you
I looked back up and whispered
..I love you too
