Caterpillars
A butterfly I can see,
As it flies over beyond me,
It flies with such grace so beautiful and free.
It amazes me how
This symbol of beauty was
A colorless caterpillar.
I never noticed the caterpillar
That lives upon my hedge, he was
Always so careful on the edge I’m surprised I didn’t notice you,
With all your sixteen feet crawling through.
My apologies I was in your
Way you were climbing up the tree
To make your cocoon
I know you will be back in the shape of a butterfly real soon.
