Memories
Tears are merely memories,
that buckle with your knees.
They fall as you crash,
They splash as you crumble.
Nothing seems okay.
They splatter on your clothes,
and stop as you stand.
You wipe your face and smile,
Getting up and pretending it’s okay.
You put up a front,
As your memories dry.
It doesn’t stop the sorrow.
It doesn’t stop the pain.
But you put one foot in front of the other.
And pretend everything’s okay.
It doesn’t mean you feel better,
It doesn’t mean you don’t feel sad.
But one day you will be better.
And that’s the day,
Where everything will actually be okay.
